Norma is a seasoned sales executive with 34 years of experience in the dental field, encompassing management, sales, benefits, clinical, and practice management. She joined Delta Dental in 1995 and currently oversees sales activities in Texas and Louisiana within the National & Special Accounts segment. In 2005, Mrs. Cardenas was inducted into the Delta Dental Plans Association National Dental Club’s Hall of Fame, an honor she achieved after just four years in sales with the company. She has since received numerous Delta Dental Plans Association National Club recognitions, including the highest level ever awarded. Norma is actively involved in various insurance industry associations and serves as Treasurer and a parent volunteer for her daughter’s senior troop.

Monica is Executive Assistant to the Founder and Retired-CEO at Pioneer Natural Resources in Irving, TX, where she has served for twenty-three years. In her role, she is highly involved with the board of directors and has extensive experience with event and project management. Monica was also a founding member and officer of the Women’s Resource Group, an internal leadership and development organization. Monica is the recipient of the 2023 Dallas Fort Worth Admin Awards for Loyalty.

A native of Midland, Texas, Monica received her Certified Administrative Professional designation in 1996 and 2018 from the International Association of Administrative Professionals. She grew up in Girl Scouts and was a troop leader with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas for twelve years, also serving in various Service Unit leadership roles. She currently serves on the board for the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains and is co-chair of the Fort Worth Women of Distinction. She is a member of the Alzheimer’s Association and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. In her free time, Monica enjoys spending time with her husband, Greg, her 4 adult children and grandson. She’s an avid sailor, world traveler, and enjoys camping and hiking in US National and State Parks.

LaChandra is a dedicated educator, veteran, and leader committed to service and Girl Scout success. After serving in the Army Reserve and receiving a Bachelor’s in Communication, she transitioned into teaching, earning recognition as Teacher of the Year at Sheppard Elementary, Spotlight Teacher, and Veteran of Foreign Affairs Teacher. She has secured numerous grants to provide essential resources for students.

Volunteerism is at the heart of her work, reflected in the service pins she earned from the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains (GSTOP). Through her Leadership to Troop 8240 after completing her Master's in Education and dedication to Service Unit 812, she continues to make a lasting impact serving on various committees within the Girl Scout community.

Malia is a dedicated Girl Scout leader and passionate advocate for positive change. She believes in mentoring others, speaking up for what’s right, and helping the organization grow in meaningful ways.

With a background in corporate merchandising and product management in the outdoor industry, Malia brings her leadership skills and hands-on experience to nonprofit work. She’s committed to making organizations stronger by improving accountability, financial responsibility, and overall structure. She isn’t afraid to ask tough questions or challenge outdated ways of thinking—her goal is to help organizations become thriving, forward-focused communities that value transparency and long-term success.

Outside of Girl Scouts, Malia loves the outdoors and adventure travel. Whether she’s leading an expedition, exploring new places with her family, or bringing people together to support a cause, she’s always looking for ways to create lasting, positive change—for both people and the planet.

Tami has been a Girl Scout for 32 years, starting when her daughter was four. She has been a troop leader, service unit leader and treasurer, facilitator, and day camp director. She currently serve on the Camp Rio Blanco camp committee, is the troop cookie chair for a brownie troop, and has been a troop chaperone for an older girl troop with special needs. She has gone on several High Adventure trips and as a trip chaperone to Europe. 

Camping and introducing others to the joys of camping is her favorite aspect of Girl Scouting. Tami believes every girl should have the opportunity to experience the outdoors. She is a founding member of the Camp Rio Blanco Circle of Friends, a non-profit organization established to support the council in maintaining and improving Camp Rio Blanco.

Tami is married to Marcus, and they have two children and one grandson. When she is not volunteering, she works as a Credit Administration Analyst for Lubbock National Bank and Amarillo National Bank. Even at work, she is known as the "Girl Scout" because her coworkers recognize that Tami is always prepared and usually has any random item they might need.

Jan brings creativity, strategic insight and a collaborative spirit to her role as President of Decalibron Consulting, LLC. Drawing on her expertise conceptualizing and implementing new programs and community initiatives in population health, higher education, and leadership development, she guides organizations as they put their vision into action. Jan’s diverse experience spans multiple business sectors, including the non-profit sector, health & wellness, higher education and small business development.

Jan values national and community service. She is immediate past national president of Omega Phi Alpha National Service Sorority and currently serves as board governance advisor to the Omega Phi Alpha Foundation. Jan is a member of the Rotary Club of Fort Worth, and a serves on the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains and Fort Worth Sister Cities International. 

Jan holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing from Texas A&M University. She is an avid hiker, drawing inspiration from the personal challenge of time on the trail. Jan and her husband, Jim, have two adult children.

Cynthia, aka Cyndy, Patches, Skip, has been a Girl Scout since Heck was a very small pup (as the reference to Heck demonstrates), and remains a Lifetime Member.

She served as a Troop Leader, a Trainer for troop Leaders, a Service Unit Manager and is currently a Board Member. At one point, Cyndy thought she wanted to be a Professional Girl Scout, but after about six months on the staff, she realized that being a volunteer was more fun and less work. That's when she went on to complete her nursing degree, eventually becoming a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. Retired now, Cyndy enjoys volunteering for Girl Scouts and Amarillo Little Theatre.

Since kindergarten, Elise has held a deep passion for Girl Scouts. She became a member of the council’s Media Corps in sixth grade, a Gold Award recipient her freshman year, and a founder and volunteer-in-training of her school’s girl scout troop sophomore year. These endeavors have all individually brought her great sense of involvement and fulfillment. Media Corps taught her the importance of community and fellowship between Girl Scouts.

For her Gold Award, she established a Talent Center for her school involving reaching out to nearby businesses, developers, and local government for internship, work, and volunteer opportunities for students, creating a job portal for students, and finding/applying for grants to fund campus resources such as from Facebook’s Fort Worth Meta Data Center, NIH, and Society for Science. This taught her resilience and ambition. Meanwhile, founding and leading a Girl Scout troop taught her the importance of being an empathetic leader and allowed her to forward these lessons onto the next generation of Girl Scouts.

Maile has been a member of Girl Scouts for nine years, and is currently a third-year Cadet in Troop 7302.

Maile actively participates in the Media Corps, Girl Advisory Committee, and attends Service Unit Meetings. Additionally, she hold leadership positions on her school’s Middle School Council and National Junior Honor Society.

Becky, CEO of Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains, is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts and has served more than 30 years with the organization. She is a native of Abilene, TX. Becky holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Christian University.

After teaching school for two years in Spur, Texas, she took a position with Girl Scouts in Wichita Falls, TX. Becky later held Girl Scout positions in Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Council and Girl Scouts of Caprock Council located in Lubbock, Texas, before accepting the post as Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains in 2008.  

Becky is a member of United Way of Tarrant County. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Fort Worth and an active member of her church, First United Methodist Church of Hurst, where she chairs the Staff Parrish Relations Committee and serves on the Administrative Board and Finance Committee, as well as a part of the Welcome Ministries. Her other civic involvement includes membership in the Association of Girl Scout Executive Staff, Women’s Policy Forum, and the Texas Tech School of Nursing Community Advisory Council.

She is a graduate of the 2010 Leadership Class of Leadership Fort Worth and the 2021-2022 Leadership North Texas Class. 

Maria has more than 20 years of marketing experience. She has worked for nonprofits, businesses, and marketing agencies in North Texas, Kansas, and Nebraska.  

She currently serves as the Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator for Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains where she loves to tell the Girl Scout story. 

When not working, Maria likes to spend time with her husband Mark and two kitties of chaos, Hermes and Circe.  

Eleanor is a senior in high school and will graduate this spring. She has been a Girl Scout for 13 years and started out as an overseas girl scout in Ankara, Turkey. At Aledo High School, she is the Student Council President, a member of National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, plays sports, serves as captain of the Academic UIL Writing team and is the vice president of the Aledo Regiment Band as an Oboe, English Horn, and Flute player.

She is part of the GSTOP Media Corps and the Girl Advisory Board. She attended the last Phenom Convention through Media Corps. As a Girl Scout, Eleanor has completed her Bronze and Silver awards, and is finishing her Gold award this spring! Her Gold Award, Project BAT (Bringing Aledo Together), connects the local public library with the high school. Students from various organizations have the opportunity to teach kids at the library about their experiences and what they do.

Chloe serves as the Community Engagement Lead at Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains, where she leads girl recruitment efforts and develops strategies to expand the council’s reach across its diverse communities.

As an Alternate National Council Delegate, Chloe is excited to amplify the voices of her peers, stay engaged with national trends, and contribute to meaningful conversations that strengthen the Girl Scout Movement. Drawing on her experience as a staff member, Chloe brings valuable insights from her close connections with volunteers and her deep understanding of the council’s needs and opportunities.

She is honored to represent GSTOP and help shape the future of Girl Scouting.

Dana is Assistant City Manager for the City of Fort Worth, where she has worked since 1999. Her portfolio includes Development Services, Fire, and Property Management departments, totaling 1,600 employees.

Dana holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners.

She serves on the board for CNM - Center for Nonprofit Management and Girl Scouts of Texas-Oklahoma Plains, and previously on the Women’s Policy Forum of Tarrant County. She is a member of Leadership North Texas and Leadership Fort Worth.

Adrienne is a retired Senior Vice President of Human Resources for UMC Health System and was responsible for the management and supervision of the Human Resource functions for the Hospital. She has more than 40 years of human resource experience working in various industries.

Currently, she serves on several Lubbock community organization boards: WorkForce Solutions of the South Plains (Past Board Chair - twice), Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains (Board Development Chair and Past Board Chair), Early Learning Center, Children Advocacy Center, Talkington School for Young Women Leaders Board, Goodwill Industries (Past Board Chair), Guadalupe & Parkway Centers.  She also serves as a Civil Service Commissioner for the City of Lubbock.

Adrienne is pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Resources Management. She has a master’s degree in Business Administration with honors, a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, and several Human Resource Certifications.

Julie is a powerhouse of innovation, leadership, and passion. A serial entrepreneur and accomplished businesswoman, Julie has spent her career building successful ventures and helping companies thrive. In her current role as an Employee Benefits Broker with Frost Insurance, she is dedicated to empowering businesses with strategic benefits solutions that attract top talent and support long-term employee well-being—all while ensuring cost-effectiveness for employers.

Beyond the boardroom, Julie is a published author and a recognized thought leader, with her insights featured in Forbes Woman, the TODAY Show, CNN, OWN, and Good Morning Australia. Her expertise and influence have made her a sought-after voice in business, leadership, and employee engagement.

But Julie’s most treasured title? Mom. As a proud mother of four, she knows the value of strong communities and meaningful mentorship. Her lifelong passion for the Girl Scouts began in her own youth and continued as a devoted troop leader for her daughters. Now, as a member of the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Texas and Oklahoma Plains, she brings her energy, strategic vision, and commitment to empowering young girls to dream big and lead with confidence.

Julie believes in making a difference—whether in business, in her community, or in the lives of future generations of fearless leaders. She’s thrilled to help shape the future of the Girl Scouts and inspire young women to take on the world.

Sonya is a dedicated leader in the financial and housing industries, currently serving as the Vice President of Mortgage Operations at Peoples Bank. With a passion for community service and strategic leadership, Sonya has been actively involved in numerous boards and organizations across Lubbock for many years.

Committed to making a positive impact, Sonya, is an active member of the West Texas Home Builders, Professional Women in Building, and the Lubbock Association of Realtors. She also supports community initiatives through leadership roles with the Junior League of Lubbock, serving as a committee chair for Food to Kids, and SPARK.

In addition, Sonya serves as a board member for the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma and the South Plains, as well as the American Cancer Society’s Cattle Baron’s Ball, the High Plains Wine and Food Foundation, and Grey Edges. Through these roles, she continues to advocate for causes that enhance the well-being and development of the Lubbock community.

Sonya is passionate about fostering sustainable growth, empowering local organizations, and strengthening community partnerships to create lasting change.

David resides in Amarillo, Texas. He met his wife Nan in high school, and they were married in 1973. They have two children, Meredith (a Girl former Scout), and Travis, and two grandchildren, Henry and Lily (a new Girl Scout).

A native of Austin, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a B.A. in Psychology (1974) and a J.D. (1977). He was licensed as an attorney 1n 1978.  They moved to El Paso, Texas, where their two children were born.  In 1985, the family moved to Amarillo, and in 1986, he was hired by the Potter County Attorney’s Office, retiring in 2016. Since that time, he has practiced law part-time in mental health. He also serves as stated clerk for Palo Duro Presbytery, PCUSA. 

He joined the Board of Directors for this council in 1998 and served until 2015, returning to the Board in 2018. In addition to his work with Girl Scouts, he is a volunteer mediator at the Dispute Resolution Center.   

Angela is the proud owner of a Farmers Insurance and Financial Services agency, which she established in 2004. With a team of five dedicated employees, Angela has built a thriving business focused on protecting what matters most to her clients.

Originally from Auburn, Nebraska, where she grew up on a hog farm, Angela moved to Texas in 1999. She holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University.

With nearly two decades of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, Angela has been an active leader in her field. She has served on the Fort Worth Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors since 2007, including as Past President. Angela is the current Chair of the Women's Planning Committee at the Fort Worth Club, where she has been a member for over 20 years. She also serves as a current board member for The Blue Family Fund, an organization that supports the families of first responders, and actively serves on multiple committees for the Girl Scouts Texas Oklahoma Plains Board of Directors, where she is a past Treasurer.

Angela and her husband, Les Lamb, have been married for 16 years and are proud parents to their 14-year-old son, Lone. When she’s not helping clients or volunteering, Angela enjoys spending time with her family, supporting her son’s activities, and cheering on her favorite teams—the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Dallas Mavericks.

Ny Lynn serves on the GSTOP Board Development Committee. She is a lifelong Girl Scout who previously served on the GSTOP executive board, the Amarillo Gold Award Committee, the Amarillo Women of Distinction Committee, is a former Girl Scout troop leader, and is a Gold Award recipient.

She previously served on the Goodwill Industries of Amarillo executive board, the Coronado Elementary School PTA and executive board, and the Austin Middle School Excellence Council and executive board. She and her husband were den leaders for their son's Cub Scout troop.

She currently serves on the Tascosa High School Football Booster Club and executive board and the Tascosa Band and Orchestra Booster Club. She has been awarded the Girl Scout Appreciation Pin, a Women of Distinction Award, and Women of Distinction Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ny Lynn is a journalist who has worked in news for more than 30 years. She is the News Director for KAMR Local 4 News, Fox 14 News, and MyHighPlains.com. She’s a Texas Tech graduate.

Robert received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Midwestern State University. He served as a First Lieutenant in The United States Army.  He is a former Boy Scout and was President of Alpha Phi Omega, the Boy Scout Fraternity, while in college.

He has worked in education for 53 years as: classroom teacher, administrator, and college field supervisor. He was the first Board Chairman of Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains.

He has owned and operated Robert Palmer Farms for over 50 years. His hobbies are fly fishing and golf. He has traveled to: China, Africa, England, Germany, and Israel. His biggest thrills were flying over The Artic Circle and going on Safari in Africa.

Abby has been “reporting” with a microphone since she was two years old, telling stories and listening to the stories of others has always come naturally to her. 

Her first exposure to broadcasting was at Coppell High School through KCBY, a student-led television station. Abby continued to pursue her passion in college, graduating in 2019 from University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication. 

She began her career in broadcast news in March of 2021, when she began working as a Reporter and Weekend News Anchor for KRBC. In July of 2022, Abby joined KRBC’s Evening News team as a Co-Anchor alongside David Bacon. You’ll find her, still telling stories, at 5, 6 and 10. 

Recently, Abby became an Active Member of the Junior League of Abilene, where she has the opportunity to serve the community she loves alongside her friends. 

Abby is a big fan of life in Abilene! She enjoys frequenting local restaurants, shopping hot spots and the various community events that make the Big Country the absolute best place to be!

Kelly is a Director of Talent Acquisition that leads company-wide initiatives to successfully attract, engage, develop and retain a diverse workforce, thereby fostering inclusion and a sense of belonging across BNSF. Kelly has been with BNSF for over 20 years and has held numerous roles in Fort Worth in Human Resources, Operations, Engineering, and Workforce Management. Kelly has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a EMBA from Texas Woman’s University.

Kelly is a member of SHRM, i4cp as well as both the Dallas HR and Fort Worth HR groups.  Her community service contributions include United Way of Tarrant County, Salvation Army Angel Tree, March of Dimes and Girl Scouts of America.  

Dr. Lynott is from Burkburnett, Texas. She attended The University of Oklahoma where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, graduating summa cum laude. She went on to complete her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where she graduated with a distinction in dental education.

Dr. Lynott currently serves as the general dentist for the JPS Community Health Clinic in the Stop Six neighborhood of Fort Worth. Professionally, she is an active member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Fort Worth District Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry. She is also involved in the community as part of the Leadership Class Fort Worth cohort and serves on the board for Survive and Thrive Education.

In her free time, Dr. Lynott enjoys reading, gardening, and spending quality time with friends and family--especially her adopted rottweiler, Sega. Fun fact: Dr. Lynott was also a Daisy and Brownie back in the day!

Brandi is the West Texas Vice President of Public Affairs for Atmos Energy. She began her career at the Hearst Corporation in Midland, Texas for the newspaper division. After 18 years and many roles held for the Hearst Corporation, she retired and began her journey with Atmos Energy. She has been with Atmos Energy for 13 years serving as a conduit between Atmos Energy and its customers, regulators, and the public.

Brandi has served on many industry committees in various leadership capacities including the Texas Gas Association, Southern Gas Association, American Gas Association and others. Brandi is a graduate of the Leadership Odessa, Midland, and Lubbock programs, as well as Leadership Texas. Brandi currently serves on and chairs various boards and committees throughout the communities in the Atmos footprint.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas El Paso. She is married to Daniel, has four beautiful children and one perfect grandson.

Dr. Thornton is currently an Assistant Professor/Site Coordinator in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Her responsibilities include coordinating the student’s clinical experience and teaching and leading courses in the program. She also works as A Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for Forensic Nurse Staffing of West Texas, performing examinations for adult and pediatric victims of sexual assault and testifying in court cases as an expert. Dr. Thornton has performed over 300 sexual assault examinations.  She also performs as an adjunct faculty member for Excelsior College in Albany, New York, a clinical associate for testing, and a faculty member for courses at all levels of the associate degree program. Dr. Thornton also serves as a consultant to Island Development Corporation in the program development of healthcare access in affordable housing. Dr. Thornton is also a Board member and has taken an active role in creating the Non-Profit Table for All Peru to address socioeconomic factors and nutrition in the community of Pedregal Grande. She has led and participated in multiple Global Health medical and educational experiences for students.
     

Dr. Thornton’s background includes Critical Care bedside nursing and faculty as a critical care instructor at Covenant School of Nursing. Dr. Thornton is a member of the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN), serving on the Government Affairs Committee and the Academy of Forensic Nurses (AFN). She is also a member of the Texas Organization of Nurse Leaders (TONL), the National League of Nurses (NLN), and the Texas Nurse Association (TNA). Kendra Thornton is also designated as a Climate Ambassador with Climate for Health Organization and a member of the Texas Association of Forensic Nurses (TFN).

Dr. Thornton serves as a Girl Scouts of Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains board member and acts as a committee member on the Lubbock advisory board, finance committee, and board development committee.

 Lieutenant Colonel (Lt. Col.) Alexis Wright is a native Texan, graduated from Georgetown High School in 1997, and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. She selected Marine Corps and was commissioned in May 2002 as a Second Lieutenant. After completing Intelligence Officer training, she was stationed in Beaufort, South Carolina, where she served as an Air Intelligence Officer with VMFA-115 and VMFA (AW)-533, completing a deployment in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM with each squadron from 2004 to 2006.

In May 2007, Lt. Col. Wright was assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency, in Washington, DC, and deployed in support of a special operations task force to Afghanistan in 2009. She was subsequently selected to serve as the Marine Aide and Protocol Officer to the Secretary of the Navy. She transitioned from active duty to the reserves, and completed a Masters in International Public Policy from the Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies in Bologna, Italy in 2012.

Since returning from Italy, Lt. Col. Wright worked in a reserve capacity at Headquarters Marine Corps, International Affairs Branch, and in a civilian capacity at Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG) as a Supervisory Intelligence Specialist. After completing the U.S. Army’s Command and General Staff College in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas in 2016, she returned to NSWDG and was promoted to Deputy Chief of Staff of the Special Projects Directorate. She joined 2d Civil Affairs Group in Washington, DC where she served as the Assistant Officer in Charge for 2d Detachment, America’s Det. Her current reserve assignment is with Marine Corps Advisory Company Alpha for which she provides key leadership as the Executive Officer, overseeing personnel actions, staff coordination, and resource management for a unit with global advisory responsibilities. Additionally, Lt. Col.
