What are the Texas state guidelines?

How many people total can attend a camping weekend?
Each camp has a limited capacity for using camp lodging. Each camp allows four persons per tent available for tent camping.
Can a troop or service unit camp more than one weekend?
Yes, if space allows.
Can we camp at other places?
Camping at non-Girl Scout locations is allowed by following the guidelines of the state where the camp is located, receiving approval of a completed troop camping request, and following Girl Scout Safety Activity Checkpoints.
Do we have to camp for two nights?
Yes, reservations are for a Friday and Saturday night experience.
When is payment due to the council?
Payments are due at least five days prior to the start of a reservation and made via GSTOP Customer Care. Contact Customer Care by calling 800-582-7272 during business hours: Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Friday, 8-11:30 a.m.
Can we visit camp for a day during the week?
At this time, camp properties are not open for week day activities or visits.
What about other camps owned by Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains?
Camp Kiwanis, Camp Rio Blanco, Stevens Ranch, and Camp Timberlake are available for troop camping.
Are campfires allowed?
Campfires will be allowed based on Texas state guidelines and are at the sole discretion of the Site Manager. Campfires, when allowed, are in your unit area only. If a burn ban is in effect, then no campfires will be allowed.
How is food handled for camp?
- Food may be cooked, plated, and served to the individual groups by one person.
- Each group eats in their own unit.
- We suggest individual packaged serving wherever possible.
What Cleaning are Troops/Service Units responsible for during their time at camp?
It is the responsibility of the troop at camp to bring cleaning supplies that are required at camp.
- Cleaning supplies that you need to bring to camp:
- Gloves for cleaning and serving
- Hand sanitizer
- Disinfectant spray, like Lysol
- Bleach water in a spray bottle (1/3 cup of bleach to one gallon of water).
- Wipes
- Restrooms are to be cleaned daily to kill germs.
- Troops should be wiping down door handles, chairs, light switches, etc. and follow guidelines taught in Outdoor 101 and Cabin Camping.
- Log in sheet needs to be completed for all persons staying at camp. The troop/service unit leader is to deliver the completed Log in sheet to the camp ranger upon arrival at camp.
If someone gets sick while at camp, does Girl Scouts insurance cover them?
Girl Scouts insurance is the secondary insurance with the individual's insurance as the primary insurance.
